In a bizarre collaboration that breaks conventional expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Disclosed
According to the official announcement, "A strange meeting draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where hints of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The narrative presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a secret sect.
The questline concentrates on "bizarre trials and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Transformations
The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a powerful moment showing a character, likely the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Additional Content
Players who finish the mission will acquire an exclusive katana alongside several artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Addition
This release also introduces the game's newest free story episode, titled "The Enigma." This playful quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature skills: Naoe debuts a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
